Volunteers Needed to Set Up for Shining Light Event

Fred Patterson, a former assistant Scoutmaster with our Troop and now an Old Hickory Council District Executive, is still looking for volunteers to help with this weekend's Shining Light event at BB&T Ballpark.

Specifically, Fred needs some help erecting the stage on the field Friday afternoon at BB&T Ballpark. The set-up will begin at 5 p.m. on Friday and should take no more than 4 hours.

Pizza will be provided to Friday afternoon to all 'Stage Roadies' who come out to help!

Help will also be needed to take down the stage on Saturday evening after the event, which should only take about a couple of hours.

If you can help, please drop Fred an e-mail or give him a call:

Office Direct Line: (336) 397-1624

Cell:  (336) 306-4122

e-mail: fred.patterson@scouting.org

If you have not ordered your tickets to the Shining Light event, you can still order online on the Old Hickory Council website. There is going to be a ton of activities at this event as well as a live video feed from the National Jamboree.

Troop 919 Update for Ram Raven Knob

We are having a great week at Camp Raven Knob and wanted to give you a heads up on a schedule change for Wednesday's campfire.

The time for Wednesday's evening's campfire has been changed to 7:30 p.m. The campfire will be starting earlier this year!

We are expecting a large crowd to join us on Wednesday and if you can work it into your plans to arrive between 5:30 and 6:00 p.m. it would be great.

Look forward to seeing you on Wednesday!

National Jamboree Opportunity

There is a last minute to attend the 100th Anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America National Jamboree at Ft. AP Hill in Virginia later this month.

This last minute opportunity comes about because a Scout from Troop 934 is ill and his doctor will not be approving him to attend JAMBO.

If you wished you had signed up for JAMBO, but did not, please give me a call and I can put you in touch wit Troop 934 and the Old Hickory Council.

We have a large contingent of Scouts and leaders from Troop 919 attending the National Jamboree and if you would like to speak with some of these guys before making a decision, let me know that as well and I will help put all the parties together.

Thanks,

Steve

The fun begins at 9 a.m. and goes to "whenever." Which means, if you are busy this morning, and can drop by a little later in the day, Joe will appreciate your help.

Joe just returned from Philmont earlier this week and is on a tight timeline to complete his project. Let's give him all the help we can.
