Council Camporee – The Old Hickory Council’s Centennial Camporee is this weekend. Final sign-up for this event will be at Tuesday’s Troop meeting and we will also be completing our menu planning on Tuesday. If you are going to the Camporee, be sure you are in attendance on Tuesday for the menu planning!
We will meet at the Scout Hut at 5:30 p.m. on Friday to load Troop and personal gear for this trip. Personal gear will be loaded from the West Central Community Center parking lot after the Troop gear has been loaded.
You should eat dinner before arriving at the Scout Hut or bring a “bag dinner” to eat after we arrive at the Camporee.
If this is your first trip with Troop 919, don’t forget your Class A uniform shirt. We always travel in Class A uniform.
We will be returning on Sunday morning and will call en route with a definite pickup time.
Merit Badge College – We are in the final stages of planning the Merit Badge College for Saturday, May 8. The MB College will be held at our Scout Hut.
If there is a Merit Badge you would like see included, be sure to check with Paul or Noah on Tuesday.
We will also be reaching out to our adult Merit Badge counselors to help at the Merit Badge College.
Sea Base Trip – Troop 934 has some slots available for their trip to the Florida Sea Base this summer and has extended an invitation to our Troop.
The trip is scheduled for August 11-19 and they will be doing the tall ship adventure, which includes sailing a ship of at least 75’ in length to Key West and back. There will be lots of fishing and snorkeling opportunities on the cruise.
Troop 934 will be flying to Ft. Lauderdale on Aug. 11 and the estimated cost of $1500.
If you are interested in this trip, please contact David Helms david@ridgetoprealty.com, Troop 934 Scoutmaster, as soon as possible. They will need a $100 deposit soon. Medical Form – A weekly reminder to get your NEW medical form turned in as soon as possible. Mr. Burgiss is coordinating the project of collecting our medial forms this year and if you need a blank form, see him at Tuesday’s meeting. A copy of your Philmont or National Jamboree form is acceptable. All Scouts and Leaders in the Troop must submit a new medical form prior to summer camp.

Summer Camp – Tuesday’s meeting will focus on summer camp. Several Scouts have not paid their summer camp deposit…please bring your deposit to Tuesday’s meeting.
Tuesday is also the night to complete your merit badge selections. Only a few Scouts have submitted their Merit Badge choices and its important that we get you registered so you will have the best chance of getting the session you desire.
Medical Forms – It’s time to begin the annual nag for medical forms!
Each Scout and leader in the Troop has to submit an annual Health and Medical form and beginning in 2010 only the new medical forms will be accepted. The only exception is a medical form from National Jamboree or a BSA high adventure program can be substituted. The form requires a visit to the doctor and his/her signature.
The annual Health and Medical Form (sized to print on letter paper) can be downloaded here. Please download and print a copy and take it with you when you go to visit the doctor this spring.
June 15 is the deadline for having you Health and Medical form submitted to the Troop.
Please keep the original for your files and only submit a copy of the form. Be sure to complete all 4 pages, including the talent release.

Council Camporee – Our Troop has been asked to provide volunteers help staff a few of the stations at the Council Camporee on April 30-May 2. Jimmy Holder is coordinating this effort and will be recruiting your help at Tuesday’s meeting.
PLC Meeting – The Troop PLC meeting will be held at the Scout Hut on Thursday at 6 p.m. All newly elected Troop leadership positions and Patrol Leaders are expected to be in attendance. Patrol Leaders, it is your responsibility to make sure your patrol is represented at this meeting.
Board of Review – The Troop Committee will be available at 6 p.m. on Thursday for any Scouts needing a Board of Review for rank advancement. Remember to have completed your Scoutmaster’s Conference prior to your Board of Review.
Troop Committee Meeting – The Troop Committee will meet at 7 p.m. on Thursday, following the PLC.

Troop Elections – We will be holding our Troop elections at Tuesday’s Troop meeting. Several Scouts have held Scoutmaster Conferences to be eligible to run for the position of Senior Patrol Leader. No Election Scoutmaster Conferences will be held at Tuesday’s meeting.
The Assistant Senior Patrol Leader is appointed after a conference between the newly elected SPL and the Scoutmaster.
The Troop positions of Troop Scribe and Troop Quartermaster will also be elected at Tuesday’s meeting and other Troop positions will be appointed by the Scoutmaster and Senior Patrol Leader.
New patrol alignments were announced at our last meeting and we will be holding Patrol Elections on Tuesday as well. Each Patrol will elect a Patrol Leader, Assistant Patrol Leader, Patrol Scribe and Patrol Quartermaster. The Patrols will also decide on a Patrol name on Tuesday.
Summer Camp – Summer Camp deposits and merit badge selections are due on Tuesday. We will be spending time at our Troop meeting on April 13 to assist Scouts in finalizing their summer camp merit badge selections.
Thanks to those Scouts who have already submitted their deposit and to the few who answered this question from our last e-mail.

Council Camporee – Our next camping trip is the Council’s Centennial Celebration Camporee the weekend of April 30 and May 1, 2. Please sign to attend this Camporee at Tuesday’s meeting.
Troop Junior Leader Training – Our Troop will hold a Junior Leader Training on Saturday, April 24.
As an elected or appointed leader of our Troop, one of your obligations is to participate in this training session following your election.
Another obligation is to be present on camping trips and to represent the Troop and your Patrol at the monthly Patrol Leaders Conference.
Troop Merit Badge College – A Troop Merit Badge College is planned for Saturday, May 8 at our Scout Hut.
