Troop 919 Notes 8-16-11

Urgent Service Opportunity – The Second Harvest Food Bank is in urgent need of volunteers to assist with sorting food for distribution to partner agencies throughout Northwest North Carolina. A large group that had planned to help with this project cancelled their participation at the last minute.

This is an opportunity for older Scouts, their friends and families. The Food Bank is open during normal business hours (9 a.m. – 4 p.m.) Monday through Friday and will also make arrangements for an after-hours project if that is when your team has availability.
This project definitely satisfies the requirement of community service hours that many Scouts are eager to fulfill. If you don’t need to fulfill the Scouting service hour commitment, it may satisfy the community service requirement of other organizations as well.
To set up a time to volunteer, give Chuck Harmon a call at 336.784.5770 (work) or 336.648.4907 (cell)

Please speak with Jim Pierson or myself to determine the best way for you to be a part of our Troop and share your son’s “mountaintop experience.”
