POPCORN SECOND WAVE
Good News….if you didn’t reach your popcorn sales goal during the traditional October Boy Scout popcorn sale, you have a new opportunity!
The Old Hickory Council is offering Scouts and Leaders and additional sales opportunity during the month of November! Popcorn sold during the second wave period will be delivered to our Troop around December 15….just in time for Christmas!
Scouts will also receive the Troop popcorn prize package for the November sales. Selling popcorn is an easy way to build your Scout account funds to help with the cost of summer camp, Philmont or other high adventure trips.
Our sales during the traditional popcorn sale were down considerably this year and our Troop REALLY depends on the popcorn sale to fund our Troop activities each year. Let’s all make a commitment to work hard and find some new popcorn sales during Wave II. One easy way to find new sales is to make sure you set up your Trails End sales site and then send an e-mail to friends and family informing them that Boy Scout popcorn can be purchased online and that YOU will get sales credit for their purchase. Friends and family like to help Scouts, especially when you tell them you are working towards a goal.
There’s still the chance to smash your Scoutmaster in the face with a pie…sales during November will count towards our overall Troop goal.
To make things easy for you, a brand new popcorn order form is attached to this e-mail. Print yourself a couple copies of the order form and start recording those sales!
Troop Shoot – Our November camping trip will be a Troop shotgun shoot at the Camp Raven Knob shotgun range. The Troop is sponsoring one round of shooting on the famous CRK wobble trap (popcorn sales pay for this). Additional rounds are $10 (that’s 25 shells and clay pigeons) if time permits.
We will depart from the Scout Hut at 6:00 PM on Friday, November 18th and return around lunch time on Sunday, Nov. 20.
OA Banquet – The Order of the Arrow annual banquet is at 6:00 PM this Saturday at Ardmore Baptist Church on Miller Street. Tickets are available at the Scout Office in advance for $10 or $15 at the door.
Friends and families are invited to the banquet.
Troop Court of Honor – Our November Court of Honor is scheduled for Tuesday, November 22 at 7:30 PM in the fellowship hall at Brookstown United Methodist Church.
Do you have lingering requirements from summer camp merit badges. This is your final Court of Honor to earn a merit badge started at camp this year.
Your final opportunity for a Troop Committee Board of Review for rank advancement is Thursday, November 17 at 6:00 PM at the Scout Hut. Don’t forget to complete your Scoutmaster Conference prior to your Board of Review.
PLC and Troop Committee Meeting – The Patrol Leaders Conference will be at 6:00 PM on Thursday, November 17 at the Scout Hut
The Troop Committee will meet at 7:00 PM following the PLC.
Christmas Family – Stan Gordon is coordinating the gifts to our Christmas family again this year and could sure use some help. If you can make some time in your calendar, let Stan know by volunteering to help with this rewarding project.

A copy of the family’s wish list is attached to this e-mail. Please consider bringing your wrapped gifts to our Court of Honor on Nov. 22.
Moravian Candle Tea – Scout families are invited to the Ardmore Moravian Church’s Candle Tea on Thursday, December 1.
For years Ardmore Moravian Church has offered this free educational and engaging event as a gift to the community. The Candle Tea is an excellent venue to better understand our city by experiencing the customs and practices of the faithful people who founded it. At this event, you will learn of the many symbols seen throughout the city every day and especially during the holiday season.
Tours are scheduled every 15 minutes beginning at 5:00 PM
